Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 October 2026
CaptionOS is a website and editor for adding captions to your videos. It is run by Ankit Kumar, an individual based in India (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using CaptionOS, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use CaptionOS.
1. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Use your real name and an email address you control. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account.
- One account per person. Each plan allows a set number of signed-in devices.
- Don’t open extra accounts to get more free minutes or exports.
2. What CaptionOS does
- CaptionOS turns the speech in your video into captions, times each word to the audio, and lets you style, edit and export them.
- Captions are made automatically and can contain mistakes, especially with background music, unclear speech or mixed languages. Please check your captions before you publish them.
3. Your videos and captions
- Everything you upload, and the captions made from it, stays yours.
- You allow us to store, process and copy your files only as far as needed to run CaptionOS for you: making captions, saving your projects and rendering your exports. We don’t publish your content or use it to train AI.
- Only upload videos you have the right to use.
4. What you must not do
- Upload anything illegal, anything that infringes someone else’s rights, or sexual content involving minors.
- Use CaptionOS to harass, threaten or spread hate against anyone.
- Try to break, overload or get around the service’s limits, scrape it, or access other people’s accounts or files.
- Resell access to CaptionOS or share your account.
5. Plans and prices
- The Free plan’s limits (caption minutes, projects, storage and export length) are shown on the pricing page and in your dashboard.
- Paid plans are billed in advance in Indian rupees through Razorpay and renew until you cancel. We never see your full card details.
- See Refunds & cancellation for refunds.
- We are not registered for GST, so no GST is added to our prices.
- We may change plans, limits and prices. A price change for a plan you pay for applies only from your next billing period, after we tell you.
6. The service is provided as it is
- We work to keep CaptionOS running well, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or unchanged. We may add, change or remove features.
- CaptionOS is not a backup service. Keep your own copies of your videos and exports.
7. Closing an account
- You can stop using CaptionOS at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@captionos.in.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first.
8. Our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost income, views or followers. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Patna, Bihar have jurisdiction over any dispute. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at support@captionos.in; most problems can be sorted out quickly.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. For important changes, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. Using CaptionOS after that means you accept the new terms.
